FRSC vows to enforce safety rules, regulations in Kano

Safety By Olufunmi The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has vowed to enforce safety rules and regulations on road users, especially articulated drivers to curb crashes in Kano State. The State FRSC sector Commander, Muhammed Bature, stated this at a town hall meeting on Monday in Kano. He said that the meeting is to address persistent safety and security challenges posed by articulated vehicles. The sector commander urged articulated vehicle drivers to adopt responsible driving habits in a bid to mitigate rising incidents of road crashes and explosions across the state. He decried frequent cases of explosions involving tankers and trailers, describing the situation as a critical issue which is not peculiar to Kano state, but across the country. By our correspondent  The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS1.2 Kano Sector Command said timely response has successfully averted a fire disaster as petrol tanker loses balance in Kano. The CRC of FRSC, Alhaji  Abdullahi Labaran stated this in a statement and issued to newsmen on Wednesday in kano. He said the incident occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m along BUK-Gwarzo Road, near NYSC Secretariat Junction, where a tanker with registration number DBT 693 XA, want  to enter AA Rano Filling Station to offload its premium motor spirit (PMS), had one of its rear tyres fall on a roadside drainage.  According to the statement, this made the vehicle to tilt dangerously, creating a high risk of explosion in the densely populated area.
