NDLEA Commander Bags Merit Award from Fagge Community

By Kabiru Aminu Muhammed The Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, ACGN A.I. Ahmad, has been presented with a Merit Award by the Restore Fagge Community. The award, presented on Wednesday in Kano, was in recognition of the command’s sustained operations against drug trafficking networks in Fagge Local Government Area. Ahmad received the award on behalf of the NDLEA Kano Command. Mr. Nura Ubali, Head of Fagge B Ward, said the NDLEA’s operations had led to significant seizures of illicit substances and the arrest of suspected drug dealers. He said the operations had improved public safety and forced many dealers to abandon the trade, with some repenting. Ubali commended Ahmad and his officers for their efforts, noting that the community would continue to support rehabilitation initiatives for victims of drug abuse. Kano NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel unveils ‘Tea Break’ initiative

By Olufunmi The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State, has unveiled a social welfare initiative tagged “Tea Break” to promote relaxation, unity, and camaraderie among its members. The programme, which involves the regular provision of tea, suya, and other light refreshments at the chapel’s secretariat, was officially launched by the chapel’s leadership during a brief ceremony attended by members and invited guests in Kano. Speaking at the launch, Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Mr. Murtala Adewale, said the initiative was conceived as a way of easing the stress of daily reporting duties and providing members with a relaxed atmosphere to network and bond after long hours of field assignments and editorial deadlines. “Journalism is a highly demanding profession.
