The Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, ACGN A.I. Ahmad, has been presented with a Merit Award by the Restore Fagge Community.

The award, presented on Wednesday in Kano, was in recognition of the command’s sustained operations against drug trafficking networks in Fagge Local Government Area. Ahmad received the award on behalf of the NDLEA Kano Command.

Mr. Nura Ubali, Head of Fagge B Ward, said the NDLEA’s operations had led to significant seizures of illicit substances and the arrest of suspected drug dealers.

He said the operations had improved public safety and forced many dealers to abandon the trade, with some repenting.

Ubali commended Ahmad and his officers for their efforts, noting that the community would continue to support rehabilitation initiatives for victims of drug abuse.

Responding, Ahmad thanked the community for the recognition, stressing that effective drug control required cooperation between law enforcement agencies and communities.

He assured that the command would sustain its operations against drug traffickers while strengthening community engagement.

The NDLEA, he said, also prioritises drug abuse prevention among youths through awareness campaigns and rehabilitation support.

According to him, collaboration with community leaders such as Restore Fagge Community has enhanced enforcement outcomes and improved safety in the area.
